Seahawks' Mike Morris: Sits out with injury
Rotowire Jul 30, 2024
Seahawks coach Mike Mcdonald said Tuesday that Mike Morris did not practice due to a minor elbow injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Mcdonald added that Morris' injury was sustained during Monday's practice, though the issue is not expected to be anything serious. The 2023 fifth-round pick appeared in one game last season before undergoing a season-ending shoulder surgery in September. Morris will likely have to compete with Myles Adams and DeVere Levelston for a roster spot during this year's training camp.

Seahawks' Jake Bobo: Looking good for No. 4 WR spot
Rotowire Jul 30, 2024
Bobo seems to be solidifying his role as Seattle's No. 4 wide receiver, according to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune.
Bobo made the team as an undrafted rookie last year, shining in the preseason and then getting playing time off the bench throughout the regular season. He drew targets on just 25 of his 148 routes, 16.9 percent, but took advantage of the limited opportunities with 19 catches for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Bobo had 64.8 percent of his yardage in a three-game stretch Weeks 6-8, and the lack of production thereafter suggests he's probably headed for a depth role again, not to mention the difficulty of gaining ground on the trio of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Jones didn't practice Saturday due to a hamstring injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald described the injury as a "nick" and indicated that it doesn't appear to be serious. As such, Jones doesn't appear to be in danger of an extended absence. The 27-year-old is slated to start along the Seahawks' defensive line again in the upcoming campaign.

Seahawks' Marquise Blair: Heading back to Seattle
Rotowire Jul 26, 2024
The Seahawks signed Blair (undisclosed) on Friday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Back at practice
Rotowire Jul 25, 2024
Smith-Njigba (shoulder) participated in Wednesday's practice, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Smith-Njigba made multiple contested catches during practice, including a 50-yard toss from Geno Smith, showing he is past the shoulder injury that forced him from OTAs in June. Dugar projects that Smith-Njigba will take the next step in the offense this season and challenge defenses at every level, something we rarely saw in 2023 when he was mainly used as an underneath target. Still, his exact role is to be determined, as commanding targets away from DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett is a tall task.

Seahawks' Ty Scott: Inks deal with Seattle
Rotowire Jul 25, 2024
The Seahawks signed Scott on Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Scott spent time with Kansas City after going undrafted in 2023, but it now seems that he's found a new home in Seattle. The Missouri State product posted 1,784 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns over his last two seasons in college before posting a 25-418-3 line for the UFL's D.C. Defenders this past spring. Scott will likely be fighting to make the Seahawks' roster as a depth piece in the team's wide receiver room as the offseason progresses.

Dodson (undisclosed) was activated off the active/PUP list Wednesday after passing his physical, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

After spending the first four years of his career with the Bills, Dodson signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks, where he will compete for a starting role in the linebackers corps following the departure of Bobby Wagner and Jordyn Brooks. Dodson saw extended playing time last season after Matt Milano fractured his leg in Week 5 of 2023, with the former finishing the year with a career-high 74 tackles (57 solo), including 2.5 sacks, two passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games.

The 2018 third-round pick out of Ohio State signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks in March after spending the first six years of his career with the Dolphins. He finished 2023 with 78 tackles (51 solo), including 1.5 sacks, three passes defended, two interceptions and one touchdown across 13 regular-season games.
